Many of us have the same questions and concerns. This area allows our membership a forum to air their concerns. Your posts will be handled in a couple of different ways. First, similar general questions will be answered here in the Speak Up Forum. Second, more personal/individual questions will be handled via direct e-mail.

MPEA Good Will Policy

When a current MPEA member (City, Park Board, or MVNA) passes away our union will send a card and flowers or a $100 memorial to the member’s family or a memorial of their choice. MPEA fair share members will be sent a card and $75 memorial or flowers. The Executive Board may make a memorial of $50 or send flowers for a Board member if a close family member dies. The Board at their discretion may send flowers or memorial for a MPEA staff, or other City, Park Board, or MVNA member.

Member Contribution

Voting Members contribute .0075 of gross income while Fair-share members contribute .0063 of gross income. Example: On a $50,000 Gross Income that works out to a difference of $60/year. Divide that the number of checks that deductions are made. (*Please note that dues are turned off in December*) This is approximately $2.00 per check.
