Request an Enrollment Card

As soon as MPEA receives the monthly employee update from HR, we inform payroll to withhold fair share dues. At the same time, a welcome letter is sent to the new MPEA member’s home with the membership card for them to complete indicating their interest in voting membership.

If you are currently Fair Share or new to an MPEA-represented position, you can become an MPEA member by attending our annual membership meeting and filling out a membership card or by sending an e-mail to Mary Rainville, the Association’s Administrative Assistant to request that a card be sent out to you.

Speak Up Forum

Many of us have the same questions and concerns. This area allows our membership a forum to air their concerns. Your posts will be handled in a couple of different ways. First, many similar questions will be answered with a post to this website page, other questions i.e. personal, will be handled by individual e-mail. see more »»

MPEA Good Will Policy

When a current MPEA member (City, Park Board, or MVNA) passes away our union will send a card and flowers or a $100 memorial to the member’s family or a memorial of their choice. MPEA fair share members will be sent a card and $75 memorial or flowers. The Executive Board may make a memorial of $50 or send flowers for a Board member if a close family member dies. The Board at their discretion may send flowers or memorial for a MPEA staff, or other City, Park Board, or MVNA member.

Member Contribution

Voting Members contribute .0075 of gross income while Fair-share members contribute .0063 of gross income. Example: On a $50,000 Gross Income that works out to a difference of $60/year. Divide that the number of checks that deductions are made. (*Please note that dues are turned off in December*) This is approximately $2.00 per check.
